Spiritual Disinformation

Have you ever had the intuitive sense, when reviewing certain "New Age" spiritual information, that something is not right with it? Or that, according to your personal understanding of how things work (an understanding that maybe took years of work at expanding consciousness for you to reach) that something is missing in the information being offered? Have you had the uncomfortable sense that everything is not all Love and Light, even though that's what you've been told?

You are not alone.

Many of us who have taken time to review a lot of the New Age spiritual information available to us have sensed something is just not right with much of it, or felt that something important is absent in the offered information. Maybe you've worked on subduing ego and experienced the expanded consciousness that brought you, and now you're being told through channeled information that you can create whatever you desire, and you recognize that desire is an appeal to ego? Do you feel like, or does it seem like, someone could be using the Achilles Heal of all humanity – the ego – to misinform and misdirect?

Well... why would anyone do that?

The answer, of course, is that it's not all Love and Light out there. It's fairly well known that some channeled information originates in lower astral. This material tends to be designed to evoke fear, and because of that is fairly easy to spot. There is also a certain comparatively small but very active group in a couple of the higher densities, or dimensions, deliberately spreading disinformation. Why? Although everybody else in the higher spheres is pulling for humanity to shift into higher consciousness, this group has a vested interest in keeping humanity in a deep slumber. And they are very, very clever about how they go about it — often providing subtle misdirection made very attractive because it appeals to ego.

On the human side, psychological manipulation is accomplished through playing on people's fears and prejudice (both ego based) and commonly employed by propagandists worldwide. In the US, Fox News is a classic example of this technique in action. However, this form of manipulations is so obvious it's recognized for what it is by many people. The more subtle calls to ego are not so obvious.

Has it occurred to you, the reader, that by-and-large the New Age movement has been hijacked? If it has occurred to you, have you thought you may be a little paranoid to think that? Rest assured you're not, it really has been hijacked. Not completely, but enough to confuse many, if not most, of its participants.

Once we're aware of the dynamics of the situation it shouldn't be a concern, let alone a problem. It helps, too, to know how to discern whether information is wholly valid or not. The technique most commonly used to spread misinformation involves surrounding little tidbits of misdirection with large amounts of valid information, so that it all seems valid. Sometimes critical information is left out, causing people to spin their wheels going nowhere. Determining whether the material is wholly valid or not enables us to stay focused on what helps in our understanding and ignore that which does not.
