If you would find God, your seeking should be the way of subtraction. God is not lost to you, but merely covered in non-remembrance by all you would add to Him in guesses and teachings. Blame not now either your teachers or yourself for this is not sin but a tiny error with seeming mountainous consequences. With time the error is subtracted and those mountains sink gently into the patient arms of Truth. Let us begin now.

First, let us subtract what has been taught us by others about God. They are passing on what others have taught them however well-intentioned those teachings may have been. Cling not like a remora to the shark of error. Make no exceptions here but let all beliefs fall and disappear as myriad snowflakes on the spring's warm pavement. To lose that which cannot be so can only be gain. And now at last we are making progress.

Next, let us admit to ourselves that we know nothing with certainty of divinity. Further, let us confess without guilt that we have made many guesses of our own trying to improve on what has been taught us. Now, let our minds run wild as the bulls on the Spanish street until our last guess, our last projection is made manifest to our busy, movie-making minds. Imagine, imagine, imagine! Then, discard all thought and rest.

And now we have lost our minds and stand ready for Experience and not for endless thoughts which have built a god in our image, a god to be defended regardless of cost simply because we have made him up. We are brave as the mother lion now. We wait in the cooling shade of the tree of Truth. God's gift, His Self, is pouring into us now as It has done since before time began. And what has been so long forgotten is now remembered, not in words or with the limping finite mind but as the Thing Itself, the Oneness of Love Without Conditions which, like God, we both have and Are.
