Three Things

by Robert Gresak

Three things there are that will never come back:

The arrow shot forth on its destined track;
The appointed hour that could not wait;
And the helpful word that was spoken too late.

How often we see the wider view
investigating each little clue
yet held back by fears pervasive glue.

How often we see our role
and begin along the path to our goal,
yet somewhere we tire-our efforts wane
the arrow of our purpose slain
and we sink back into the mundane.

How many appointed hours have we not kept
because of fear-fear of others saying we are inept.
How many hurtful acts-physical, emotional and mental
have we performed or witnessed
causing hurt or hope to be extinguished;
and if and when comes remorse
how fervently we wish we could have changed our course.

'Twas not for nought the wise ones of yore

taught the need to live by the good law
to watch constantly our every word and deed,
and to the deep undercurrents of life give heed.

Robert Gresak was led at age 19 to meet an inspirational medium who became his spiritual mother and mentor. He became a member of her group and came in touch with the Masters of the Great White Brotherhood and their teachings. Since her passing over to higher service in the late '80s his spiritual gifts have tended towards article writing, a major portion of which of which lies in inspirational poetry.
In Robert's own words, "I do get the strong feeling at times that becoming a speaker as well lies ahead of me soon. I also hope soon to pursue further a book manuscript 'The Art of Living' which I started a few years back."
Robert lives in South Africa.
