Shall I pause to pick a penny from the ground?
Should I write a sonnet that the world’s cape of
mourning glory be placed on crazed shoulders?
Is there sense in shouting my name or persons
in places high prepared to hear its paltry echo?
Shall I put you down that I perceive myself as
climbing higher up a ladder (of cracking rungs)
or extol my beliefs while pasting with vitriol
those to which your heart has life-long clung?
Or shall I do nothing, say nothing and think of
nothing ‘til the silent mind confirms that egos
and differences and pennies are without value
but we are Everything in the Oneness of Love?
