"Christ"

by Frank Cavano, MD

Seek not to dismiss this brother
Who comes in kindness to you-
Reflecting in his love
A shimmering certainty.
Foreign.
Present.
Rejected.
Perfect.

Hold him not at arm’s length
Who offers you a mirror
To your Self-
The Holy One
You will not face
Too certain it is true.

And bind him not
With hell-made twine
Fashioned from endless yarns
Of self-incrimination
False as facile lying
Empty as a sleeping heart.

For he has come
To show you your Self
And you will see It
Reflected in the face
That is lighted by your love
For God and all He loves.

Shrink not from this
For It is but your Self
That comes to you
And whispers:
“Here I am”
The Father’s Beloved-
Forgotten but found-
Denied but dancing
Midst angels.
Ageless.
All.
Christ.

Subject: Beautiful

Frank, you most certainly walk in the light. Your poetry is mystical, beautiful and I am just captured by it. It is an honor to share this poetry section with you.
